End-of-Year Checklist for Health Insurance

Updated: Nov 9

As the year winds down, it’s a great time for everyone to ensure their healthcare coverage is still meeting their needs. Here’s a quick checklist to review:

1. Confirm Your Providers Are Still In-Network

Medical providers can change their participation in medical networks. Double-check that your doctors and specialists are still covered under your plan to avoid unexpected costs.

2. Review Out-of-Pocket Limits

If you’ve had higher healthcare expenses this year, review your out-of-pocket limits to understand what additional costs, if any, may come up. This helps with budgeting and planning for the future.

3. Evaluate Your Prescription Coverage

If you take medications, make sure they’re still covered under your Part D or Medicare Advantage plan. Prescription formularies can change, and this small step could save you significantly in the year ahead.

4. Plan for Any Coverage Changes in 2025

Health Insurance plans can change their benefits each year. Now is a good time to review these updates to be sure you’re comfortable with any modifications that will take effect in January.

Taking a few minutes to go through this checklist can make a big difference in how prepared you feel heading into the new year. For any questions, or if you’d like a free coverage review, reach out to Pierce Insurance at (515) 257-6663
